Veterans Empowerment Organization of Georgia, Inc. is working with an array of prospective donors to procure assistance and donations necessary to rehabilitate local apartment buildings in the City of Atlanta.
We plan to rehabilitate hundreds of units in Georgia. This plan is designed to meet the needs of all veterans who are chronically homeless and those seeking permanent affordable housing. Construction is projected to begin as soon as Veterans Empowerment Organization of Georgia, Inc. meets it goal of raising $1,760,000.00 (projected budget) hopefully by the end of May of 2011. Projected completion is set for November of 2012.

"Veterans Empowerment Organization of Georgia, Inc. is steadily moving with the process, so we can move forward with our plans to rehabilitate our residential facilities to reach a larger percentage of the homeless population in Georgia," said Veterans Empowerment Organization of Georgia, Inc. Executive Director and Developer Mr. Frantz Fortune. "This important transaction will put us one step closer to our goal of ending chronic homelessness in Greater Georgia."
The newly rehabilitated facility will feature multiple buildings including a total of 100 single-unit beds for homeless veterans, 48-units for permanent affordable housing, and 4-units of emergency supportive housing. Veterans are also provided a wide range of social services, as well as, on-site program operations, case management, life skills classes, A/A N/A meetings and other needed support.
At the same time that the Veterans Empowerment Organization of Georgia is working on the "big picture," as we call it, ending homelessness among Georgia veterans, we provide 30 transitional unit-beds and 10 permanent unit-beds along with social services to veterans who are in immediate need through our outreach program. VEO will operate a temporary full-service center with a 10 beds transitional housing center for veterans who meet criteria for receiving emergency assistance.
