Trust the staff at
The Veterans Empowerment Organization of Georgia,
Inc.,
to provide courageous social services for homeless veterans. We are trying
to raise $1,760,000 through public and private donations and
organizations, such as the United Way, Churches, Office of Veteran's
Affairs, The Georgia Housing Homeless Finance Corporation. By doing this,
we plan on moving forward with our
rehabilitation center that will work with a
large percentage of Georgia's homeless population. We want to end chronic
homelessness among veterans in the greater Georgia area.
Our Center
The newly rehabilitated facility will feature
multiple buildings, including a total of 100 single unit beds for homeless
veterans, 48 units for permanent affordable housing, and four units of
emergency supportive housing. Veterans are also provided a wide range of
social services, including on-site program operations, case management,
life skills classes, and A/A or N/A meetings.
Transitional Services
While working on ending homelessness among Georgia veterans, we will
provide humanitarian services to veterans who are in immediate need
through our outreach program. Our organization will operate a temporary
full-service center with a 10 bed transitional housing center for veterans
who meet criteria for receiving emergency assistance.
Services That We Provide
We provide a range off social services as a part of
our program. Our staff helps veterans to understand written
correspondence, complete forms pertaining to VA benefits, and interpret
Medicare or Medicaid statements. We also provide life skill classes and
job coaching in order to help clients make the best of available
opportunities and resources. We teach resume writing, job searches,
positive attitude development, and increase self-confidence.
